Ask Alaska Woman!
I know it has been awhile peeps, but I kind of got behind the power curve. I am back in action and ready to rock and roll. I have since published an E-Book, Alaska Man's Guide to Fishing the Lost Coast. I also published book one of a Trilogy called Alaska Man an International Best Seller. You can find my book on my website http://www.alaskawildadventures.tv/alaska-man-novel. There you can even buy a signed copy, or be re-directed to Amazon. It comes in digital or paperback.
With all the burning questions I found that people have about my state which is a very mysterious and mystical place I decided to start an open forum called Ask Alaska Woman. I want people to feel free to contact me with their questions about Alaska. Whether it be someone wanting to come here on vacation, or if you have questions about moving to Alaska. I will even give you relationship advice if you need it. Think of me as a travel agent, consultant and Dear Abby. I will be doing Live You Tube forums and Live Facebook chats.
I am tying flies right now and putting together an instructional video series. How to tie one of the best silver salmon flies ever invented, the one and only Davis Spanker! I will also tie custom flies for anyone that wants a hand tied Spanker. My hand tied spankers are 100X the fly you can buy at a shop or a store. Most of them are tied in a foreign country and are JUNK!! My flies last for years. My clients that I sold my hand tied flies to caught hundreds of fish on a single fly and used them for numerous seasons fishing with me.
I hope you have a wonderful evening and look forward to hearing from you!!

The Wild Life
It has been awhile since my last post... but here I am back from hiatus~
Insights from the Wilds of Alaska.... I was going through my pictures and wanted to share this with you all.
It is a wonderful experience to get to see the Humpback Whales so close. I was filming some Alaska Wild Adventures video with our Sony 1080PHD camera in the bow of our19 foot skiff. As dangerous as it may seem I have to admit it is a thrilling experience.
Just like any creature, I think that showing fear or nervousness can cause a vibrational reaction from whatever you are coming into contact with. Every one of my experiences with Whales has been a positive one. I actually get a feeling of peace from these creatures. I have had whales approach my boat before out of nowhere. One time in particular, a mother and calf Humpback Whale came out of their way to look at me. They breached next to our skiff and looked me directly in the eye. I was a little spooked or more like surprised, but got a laugh about it after contemplating the encounter. I realized just as I like to look at them, that they were curious, and were trying to get a look at me. I am grateful for all of the things I get to see on a daily basis. From the Whales to the Alaska Wild flowers, every day is filled with beauty. I believe no matter where we are we should look for the beauty in life.
I started Alaska Woman Consulting to answer any questions you may have about moving, living, or vacationing in Alaska. With the influx of people moving and vacationing in Alaska, I believe that I can be a very useful source of information.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like any information about Alaska~ Go to my website for pictures and more information. I also have a You Tube channel with tons of videos of my life living in the Wilds of Alaska!
Take care from ~ Alaska Woman~

Living Wild
I know it has been awhile since my last post. I have been very busy out here in the WILDS OF ALASKA!! I have been outside every day for over a month. Out here in Kodiak we have had an extraordinary July. It was hot and sunny every day for the last 4 weeks. Usually I would be the last person to complain about the sun but darn it my garden was very difficult to keep watered. I had a 55 gallon drum filled with water that I use for watering my fairly small garden plot that measures about 20feet long by 4 feet wide. Usually it fills up when it rains.. well since it did not rain for about a month it got emptied. Our cabin uses a rain catch system that fills off of the rain gutters of our quaint little cabin. I had to start filling my watering buckets inside of the cabin and carrying them out to the garden. I got it down to about 8 gallons of water a day to barely keep the plants watered. It was so hot and sunny that the dirt dried pretty fast.
We went subsistence Salmon fishing and put up some Sockeys, and caught a few Dolly Varden Trout. That was a nice treat! We have been busy in the meantime working on getting our firewood stash as well. It is quite a feat to get wood from the beaches and put it in the skiff, then haul it to our cabin, cut it up, chop it then carry it up a tall ramp to the wood shed. Needless to stay living out here keeps a girl busy!
I hope your summer is going well and am looking forward to hearing any questions you may have about living off of the grid, planning a move to Alaska, or your dream vacation, I have a lot of information I can share with you. Please feel free to find me on Facebook or email me with your comments or questions! Go to my Website... http://www.alaskawildadventures.tv, and check out my You Tube channel!
Take care from the WILDS OF ALASKA~
